Columbia Conservation District asks to move into former county building

DAYTON — The Columbia Conservation District is looking to leave the U.S. Post Office building — aka the federal building — at 202 S. 2nd St. in Dayton and hopes to move across the street.

District Manager Aneesha Dieu, along with District board Vice Chairman Tye Knebel and board Secretary Zane Patton, asked the Columbia Board of County Commissioners at its Monday, April 14, work session whether they could lease the building at 114 S. 2nd St. that until recently housed the planning and building department.
