Overview

At the 2024 WACD Annual Business Meeting, the membership voted to create a permanent Ways & Means Committee. This was done in an effort to help WACD better prioritize the many and varied resolutions proposed by conservation districts each year.

Duties of the Ways & Means Committee include:

  • Develop policy recommendations for the Board of Directors related to the resolutions adopted by the membership.
    • Collect and summarize conservation district input, and use the input to develop draft policies, resolutions, and position statements.
    • Provide information to key Association decision makers.
  • After resolutions are adopted each year, the committee should:
    • Attempt to identify which resolutions are feasible in the short term, within staff capacity, available funding, and also taking into consideration the urgency of the resolutions.
    • Develop recommendations to address resolution goals within available WACD resources.
  • Meet at least quarterly, with other meetings as needed.
