SCC Northeast Regional Manager Position
Position Description
As the Northeast Regional Manager, you will work independently under the general guidance of the Director of Regional Managers, providing a wide variety of services to the state’s conservation districts. Your role will include helping provide financial and operational guidance to conservation districts, while facilitating collaborative solutions that marry state natural resource priorities and work on the ground in local communities.
In this position, you will provide support to the following conservation districts, although the specific districts may be adjusted from time to time: Okanogan, Ferry, Stevens County, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Lincoln County, Columbia Basin, and Adams County. Minor adjustments to the service area may be considered if feasible.
Some of what you’ll enjoy doing includes:
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with district supervisors and key district employees.
- Providing conservation districts with examples, methods, trainings, facilitation, and resources to connect land managers, external partners, and natural resources needs with SCC programs and district planning and implementation.
- Facilitating conservation district supervisor development through SCC resources, tools, and training.
- Serving as the principal advisor to the Executive Director and Director of Regional Managers on information the Commission needs to understand about conservation districts in this region.
- Utilizing Regional Manager relationships with districts to assist SCC staff and the Executive Director with critical information needs (including but not limited to significant change(s) in the district, state audits, major accidents, other issues) and issues resolution – utilize the lead role structure for information sharing.
- Coordinating with partner agencies and groups on specific tasks and programs.
- Assisting conservation districts in resolving issues and improving collaboration.
- Helping conservation districts create and maintain effective working relationships with community, clients, and partner agencies and organizations.
- Encouraging and coordinating resource conservation activities between county, state, and federal units of government and conservation districts.
- Compliance monitoring of completed on-the-ground projects to confirm installation and maintenance.
- Providing resources and guidance to ensure completion of the conservation district long-range, annual planning, annual reporting, and budget activities.
- Providing preventative guidance and direct assistance based upon that guidance to districts on common procedural requirements and issues (e.g. elections, appointments, accounting, etc.).
- Utilizing evaluation tools to assist districts in areas such as finance, operations, governance, and program delivery.
- Facilitating information sharing among conservation districts.
Compensation
Salary: $85,000.00 – $105,000.00 Annually
