King CD Snohomish Basin Partnership Coordinator Position

Position Description

This position will serve as a key element of the implementation of a nearly $3 million dollar grant awarded to KCD and several key partners in the WRIA 7 watershed. The coordinator will support conservation program components focused on the Snohomish Basin Riparian Collaborative and the Snoqualmie Watershed that will implement new riparian buffer plantings and establish new program elements identified in the grant. The main responsibilities of this position will directly support seven funded partners and indirectly support numerous landowners, other partner organizations and the ecological health of the watershed. This position is the culmination of several partnership effects including the Snoqualmie Fish Farm Flood effort, the Snohomish-Stillaguamish Local Integrating Organization, and the Snoqualmie Watershed Forum- WRIA 7. The work plan for this position comes directly from the Climate Resilient Riparian grant application submitted in January 2025. The core elements include:

  • Coordinating the implementation of a comprehensive pilot maintenance program (30%).
  • Coordinating the Riparian Program Advisory Committee and Snohomish Basin wide Committee (25%).
  • Ensuring efficient communication among partners; including but not limited to administrative activities like processing grant reimbursements, ensuring timely reporting and metric tracking (25%).
  • Coordinating two Consultant contracts. The first to create a riparian coordination tool and the second to coordinate the implementation of a Community Based Social Marketing Campaign (20%).

Work is usually varied with complexity and involves routinely applying advanced principles and concepts in day-to-day work. Actions are typically short and mid-term and focused on what and how. Helps leadership to plan program goals and objectives. Work is also reliant on good communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

Full-Time, Salary Position:
These positions will start at the hiring Grade of 26, Step 1, currently at $$77,922.65. After passing a successful 6-month probation, candidates will automatically move to step 2 within the salary band. Funding is secured through June 2029, with the expectation to continue.
