Washington Soil Health Initiative Extension Coordinator Position

Position Description

The Extension Coordinator supports Washington State University’s (WSU) activities under the Washington Soil Health Initiative (WaSHI) including assisting the faculty lead in communications and outreach efforts, annual reporting, coordinating outreach and advisory events, supporting research activities, and other duties as assigned. WSU’s WaSHI responsibilities are housed within the Center for Sustaining Agriculture and Natural Resources (CSANR). WaSHI is a multi-agency (Washington (WA) State Conservation Commission, and WA State Department of Agriculture, WSU) effort that seeks to empower landowners to identify soil health issues on their lands, research solutions to these issues, and improve the health of Washington soils. This position will coordinate with CSANR program faculty and staff, WaSHI Administrative Team, WaSHI Advisory Team, researchers within the Long-Term Agroecological Research and Extension (LTARE) network as well as with university administration, financial entities, and agency partners. The location of the position is negotiable. Remote/hybrid opportunities with flexible scheduling may be available.

Compensation

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary:

$4,224.37 – $6,336.56 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
