Conservation Outreach Assistant Position, Benton SWCD, Oregon

Position Description

Since 1956, Benton SWCD has been growing relationships between people and place. We are a Special District governed by a publicly-elected Board of Directors and supported through a property tax levy, grants, and other local, state, federal, and private funds. Our staff and board engage Benton County residents in the conservation and stewardship of natural resources by providing educational, technical, and financial assistance to rural and urban citizens. Join our talented staff to support several of our most impactful programs, including the Invasive Species Program, Native Plant Program, and Youth Education. The Conservation Outreach Assistant will provide support and leadership for these and other programs by educating residents about noxious weeds, assisting with our two native plant sales, and leading environmental education programs for both youth and the public.

Compensation

Position Status: Full-time (36-40 hrs/week), At-will, Non-exempt

Pay Range: $22-$23/hour

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, employee assistance program, short-term disability, life insurance, retirement contribution; paid vacation, paid wellness leave, 11 paid holidays/yr.

Office Location: Corvallis, Oregon; potential for hybrid telework/office work option

Desired Start Date: The anticipated start date is early to mid-September 2024
