Seeking CD Feedback on 2022-2027 Goals – Due August 16

The Washington State Conservation Commission (SCC) is developing our 2022-2027 Strategic Plan, and we’d like feedback from conservation district staff and supervisors on our proposed goals.

We invite you to please:

Feedback will be shared with our Commissioners for their consideration as we continue developing our plan, which will be finalized by the end of this calendar year.

Why are we only seeking feedback on goals? Where’s the “meat” of the plan?

Think of this initial review of our goals as the appetizer before the meaty course. We’ll share more details with conservation districts later this summer as our plan develops.

Goals serve as the foundation and overarching guide for our plan, and that’s why we want to hear from you about them now. They represent the destinations we hope to reach. They don’t include how we’ll measure/track progress toward each goal or details of how we’ll get there, such as all the specific actions we’ll take to support and promote conservation districts — that will be covered in the objectives, strategies, and tactics we eventually set underneath each goal.

For now, we want to hear your thoughts on our overall direction and the things you’d like our Commissioners and staff to consider as we develop the specifics of our plan.

Thank you, and here’s to a successful journey ahead!
