The Whidbey Island Conservation District is seeking a detail-oriented individual with excellent collaboration skills to fill the District Office Administrator position.

The District is a dynamic organization, comprised of volunteer board members and paid staff. We seek an individual to complement our highly productive, energetic, and skilled staff to deliver quality conservation programs to Whidbey Island residents. This position is responsible for District fiscal operations activities, including, but not limited to, BARS accounting, payables and receivables, monthly payroll, expense reimbursements, preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting, and maintenance of all financial records.

Confidentiality and independent judgment are necessary. Work is characterized by a substantial amount of financial and administrative functions. The administrator must possess a high level of integrity, honesty, and strong customer service.

Candidates with a college bachelor’s degree or higher in public finance, accounting, economics, or a related field are highly preferred. Experience may be substituted year-for-year for education.

This position is a non-exempt (FLSA) status salary position with compensation starting at $40,000-45,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Additionally, the incumbent will be eligible for the District benefits package which includes sick and vacation leave; medical, dental, and vision insurance; a Simple IRA Retirement plan, and 11 paid holidays per year.
